It is so nice to have time to learn some new technology!  I have been updating my blog by making it more fun and colorful.  In addition, the more products I create for TpT the better I get at it.  It is amazing how much there is to learn about technology.  It has been a lot of fun!

Making a Banner

Need to make a banner for your TpT store?  Here is the template and directions to take the guesswork out and make it an easy fun project!

Click here to go to Banner Template

Here is what you do:
1) Save the blank template to your computer. That way you always have it to make new banners as you wish.
2) Open the banner and rename it something like 'banner1'.
3) Decorate your banner! You can change the background color, add text and do whatever you like. To get ideas take a look at banners at other TpT stores. There are some really nice ideas out there!
4) When you're done save your banner again, but this time as a jpeg file. The jpeg file will be placed in your pictures. (For some computers, you have to tell it to place it in your pictures file)
5) Log into TpT and click on 'My TpT' in the right hand corner.
6) Scroll down and under 'Marketing and Promotion' click on 'Dress up your store'.
7) Under 'Profile Page Leader Board' click browse and find your banner. Remember to find the jpeg of your banner.
8) Below it choose one of your products to link your banner to. Some people choose a free product while others choose their most expensive one. It's up to you. (You cannot link to a blog or outside webpage).
9) Click save changes. After TpT approves your banner it will be placed on your store.

Enjoy your new banner!

Our oldest child graduated from high school and what do all teenagers want? MONEY!!!!!  So we bought a clear size can at the craft store.  I designed and printed a sticker with her name and school name to put on the lid.  And then we filled it with cash and decorated it with ribbons.  She loved it!

Summer

Well School is finally out!  Yeah!  I have plans for this summer.  I plan on working on my TpT products, quilting, and trying out some new recipes.  Anything that doesn't have to do with teaching I will post under the"Everything Else!" tab.  My husband has started a new job with the school system in the technology department.  I am a little sad that he will have to give up his summers for this new position, but the benefits are worth it!

5 Days of Kindergarten left!

Here it is!  The home stretch!  There is only 5 days of school left.  It is an exciting time, but also a buy time with paperwork and end of the year responsibilities.  I will not be in kindergarten next year.  I have requested a move to a higher grade.  Kindergarten is a very challenging grade level.  I have worked harder in kindergarten than in any other grade I have taught.  Five year old require so much more attention and care.  They are like babies compared to their older peers.  I commend any kindergarten teacher who thrives and love it!  I prefer the older children.  I am hoping for 2nd grade.  I also have some job interviews coming up for positions that are outside the traditional classroom.  One is or an Instructional Facilitator position (this will be my 4th time applying for this position) and the other if for AIG which is a gifted teacher position.  I just recently received my license in gifted education from UNC Charlotte.  Hopefully one of these interviews will turn into a new job for me!
Happy end of school everyone!

This is a picture of my Real and Nonsense Sort being used in my classroom.  My students decided to use the mini pocket charts to sort the words.  Sometimes my students put the spaghetti on the floor or on the table and then put the meatballs on top of the spaghetti.  This product can be found in my TpT store at http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Real-and-Nonsense-Sort-with-CVC-Words
